The history of Primary School in Gołcza The history of Primary School in Gołcza dates back to the sixteenth century. In the past five hundred years of its existence, the Primary School in Gołcza named after the Pope John Paul II has been changing a lot as regards its organization as well as the building itself. The modern history of our school started in 1975. First, it was the 8-year collective school (the students come from several nearby villages). Nowadays, our school has the students from following villages: Gołcza, Chobędza, Cieplice, Czaple Małe, Kamienica, Maków, Rzeżuśnia, Ulina Mała, Ulina Wielka, Wielkanoc. Of course, the pupils from the others villages are also very welcome. The building conditions of the school all the time has been changing. In 1975 the lessons took place in two buildings: the classes from I to IV in the old antique building and the classes from V to VIII in a new building. Unfortunately, there were too small classrooms so it was impossible to accommodate all the students. For this reason, the education took place in shift system. Every year there were more and more children, so the redevelopment of the school and building of larger classrooms were necessary.  The very important year for the Primary School was 1988 when the long expected building works of our new school started. The school complex was finished in 1989 and consisted of three huge separate buildings and a large gym. There was also a place for building in the future a football field and a playground for children. The first lessons in the new school started in winter 1993 (but not in all classrooms). In March this same year the new school was consecrated. In 1996 a gym, a fitness room and a corrective gymnastics room were ready to use. Remaining sport objects, namely a football field with a stand and a track were ready in 2004. Other places like a canteen, an assembly hall and an additional new building for the pre-school and young learners were opened in 2003. Nowadays, there are 24 classrooms, a library, a computer room, an assembly room, a common room, a canteen, a gym, a fitness room and a corrective gymnastics room, a speech therapist’s surgery, a children educator office, a cloakroom, a small school shop and administrative rooms.  In 1999 after the educational reform the school building was divided into two schools: the Primary School and the Secondary School. Beside this, 8-class primary school after the successive reform of education has been rearranged into a 6-class school.  |
